The Healing Powers of EFT Tapping: A Guide to Emotional Freedom Technique  

 

I am so excited to talk about one of my favourite healing techniques today!  EFT Tapping, also known as emotional freedom technique.  This is such an amazing tool especially for us high-achieving ambitious women! 

 We live in a fast-paced world where stress, anxiety, and emotional distress can be the norm for so many of us. And this is really common among high-achieving women.  A common trait many of us can struggle with, I know myself included especially when it comes to putting our worth in external validation.  Perfectionism, self-sabotage and procrastination can all be at the core of emotional distress. And throw limiting beliefs and comparison into the mixture and it can feel like inner turmoil!  This is just causing us more harm than anything else.  My mission is to support you in becoming your most magnetic self and doing the deep inner healing so you can truly THRIVE in all areas of your life!

Luckily there are some great wellbeing practices we can incorporate into our daily practices to support our emotional wellbeing.  So let’s talk about my fav tool – Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping. It combines elements of ancient Chinese acupressure with modern psychology, EFT tapping offers a unique and holistic approach to addressing emotional distress and promoting overall well-being.  And in case you didn’t know I am certified as an EFT practitioner! I love it so much that I wanted to bring this into my containers when working with my clients. 

 

Understanding EFT Tapping

 

EFT tapping involves tapping on specific meridian and energy points on the body while focusing and bringing attention to a particular issue or emotion you might be experiencing. These meridian points are believed to be channels through which energy flows in the body, according to traditional Chinese medicine. By tapping on these points you can release blocked energy and restore balance to the body’s energy system while also working through limiting beliefs and calming the nervous system.

The technique also incorporates elements of cognitive therapy by combining physical tapping with affirmations or statements that address the specific problem or emotion being addressed. This combination helps to disrupt negative thought patterns and move through limiting beliefs and old paradigms keeping you stuck while creating a more positive mindset.  It’s such a simple yet incredibly effective practice for creating emotional freedom and well-being.

How Does EFT Tapping Work?

The studies behind EFT are still being explored,  but many studies show and also experts believe that it works by calming the body’s stress response and promoting relaxation. You can also experience this for yourself just by doing it. By tapping on the meridian points you stimulate the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the “rest and digest” response. This helps reduce feelings of anxiety, overwhelm and promotes a sense of inner peace.  And the best part is it can be done from literally anywhere and doesn’t require anything except a quiet place and you to do it. 

The cognitive aspect of EFT tapping can help to reframe negative beliefs, thoughts and emotions, allowing you to show up to situations and experiences from a more empowered and grounded perspective. By acknowledging and accepting your emotions while tapping, you can often experience a sense of relief and clarity around your emotions or the situation you are tapping on.  Tapping has personally helped me so much on my own healing journey especially when it comes to limiting beliefs.  I love to tap every morning and it really is so powerful for priming your energy for the day and raising your vibration.

Numerous studies have explored the potential benefits of EFT tapping for a variety of conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic pain, and more. While research is still ongoing, many people report experiencing significant improvements in their emotional well-being after incorporating EFT tapping into their routine.  And you know when we raise our vibration we raise our magnetism for our manifestations to come through for us.

Start Using EFT Tapping Today!

    Bring awareness to the Issue: Begin by identifying the specific issue or emotion you want to work through. This could be anything from anxiety, money mindset, or stress to a specific fear or limiting belief. Basically, anything you want to work through. And this is so powerful when it comes to manifestation. As to manifest our desires we need to bring our thoughts, feelings, beliefs and actions into alignment so EFT is such an amazing tool to bring into your practice for raising your vibration and unblocking.

    Rate the Intensity: On a scale of 0 to 10, rate the intensity of the emotion or issue you’re experiencing and working through. This will help you to track how it’s working to decrease the intensity of the emotion and bring you back down to a more relaxed and grounded state. You can perform as many times as needed. Because we are all about embracing our softer side over here! Letting go of the hustle and stress.

    Performing the Tapping Sequence: Using your fingertips, gently tap on each of the following meridian points while repeating a short affirmation or statement related to your issue:

      • Karate chop point (side of the hand)
      • Top of the head
      • Eyebrow
      • Side of the eye
      • Under the eye
      • Under the nose
      • Chin
      • Collarbone
      • Under the arm

    Repeat as Needed: Continue tapping on each point while repeating your affirmation or statement for several rounds, focusing on the main emotion belief and what you are trying to move through.

    Reassess the Intensity: After completing a few rounds of tapping, reassess the intensity of your emotion or issue. You may notice a decrease in intensity or a shift in how you feel.

    Practice Self-Compassion: Remember to practice self-compassion throughout the process and be patient with yourself as you are moving through any discomfort and resistance.  And be so proud of yourself for showing up and taking radical responsibility for your well-being! 

    EFT tapping is a powerful and amazing technique that has been such a key tool in my own expansion and emotional healing journey. It really can help promote emotional healing, reduce stress, and improve your overall well-being and I mean who doesn’t want that!
